Monbake was created in February 2018, when the Ardian investment group acquired Berlys and Bellsolà with the aim of leading the frozen dough sector in Spain. We have 9 production areas distributed throughout national territory, and more that 1700 employees.

Origins of the Berlys business.
Panaderías Navarras founded.
First Bellsolà oven founded
1960 – 1980
Pere Bellsolà Fonarelles opened new facilities in Aiguaviva, Girona, for the production of fresh bread, in order to supply both his network of stores and external clients, serving not only traditional bakers but also catering and restaurant clients.
Huge period of growth for Berlys. Consolidation of industrial structure and network of stores.
(Puratos + Panasa).
Berlys launches the first frozen ciabatta on the market.
Berlys opens the most modern pre-baked bread factory in Europe.
1997 – 2003
Merger between Berlys and Lázaro Taberna. BRC acquired.
First automated lines at Bellsolà factory in Aiguaviva (implementation of L6 automated line).
Bellsolà changes its brand image. Furthermore a new production line is established for pre-baked bread (L8) with greater production capacity; 6000 baguettes per hour.
Berlys opens its second logistics platform. With a capacity for 13,000 pallets.
Bertiz, the Bakery Café chain based on top quality positioning for product, store and management, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction, opens its first store in Bilbao.
Berlys Corporación Alimentaria S.A. is created.
Bertiz opens its first franchise in Bilbao.
New automatic storage silo with a capacity for 8000 pallets. New automatic pastries fermenter at the Aiguaviva plant.
Ardian acquires Berlys and Bellsolà, and the MONBAKE GROUP is born.
